Reviewing the Wordpress Review Plugin.

If you're a regular on the gay affiliate marketing forum, or the cakes chat you've probably heard about the wordpress review plugin already. If not, well we're going to do a little review of it for you today.

So, first the basics.

What does this plugin do? Well, once you download and install it, it will help turn your wordpress site into a full fledged review site. Whether you're reviewing restaurants, shoes or people's beer bellies you can customize your site to work using WFReview.

So, how easy is it?

Well, at first we weren't sure where to get the data from so this was a bit of a problem. Then we realized we could build a quick scraper for yellow pages canada, and then we were off to the races. We didn't grab email addresses because that would be illegal eh? but we did get the name, address and phone number of the businesses we were setting up on the review site(s).

Next we made sure our CSV data was sane and tidied up anything that was required.

Now came the fun part.

By fun we mean easy. All we do is login to our wordpress interface, go to the WFReview plugin settings. Then we select a few options along the way, such as;

 • Replace Links - Handy for replacing affiliate links, or selling links later on
 • Add Review Categories - Add Review categories (hot, cold, medium, whatever) to your existing wp categories

There are a few more options that you'll see that are pretty straight forward on the configuration screens

Next we're gonna want to go in to the CSV Import screen, select our CSV file that we created earlier and press the "continue to step 2" button. There we can create our post template

On this page you're going to want to create some sort of post template, a very basic one is below:

title: [name]

body:
Address: [Address]
City: [City]
Country: [Country]
Phone Number: [PhoneNumber]

Now you're done with the post template. Press submit to continue importing your records and select some post options.

Yup. It's that easy.

You'll see all your reviews imported to the site after this is complete.

Now you're probably going to want to fill in your posts with some reviews. This is the coolest part. All you do is go to the "generate" section, and just fill in some options as to when you want the reviews posted from, and by male or female readers and everything will automatically generate. Make sure you have categories for reviews setup as mentioned above, or this will not work

Now you're pretty much done besides making theme modifications to your site if required. If you want to run it out of the box, no modifications should be required but if you have an older theme or want to customize the output of the review plugin for wordpress, then you'll have to customize your theme. All of that information can be found on the WFReview forums after you buy the plugin, so I'm not going to re-post it here.

Conclusion

If you're looking to build out review sites that take about 5 minutes from start to finish (if you have the data already in a csv file) then this plugin is really for you. WFReview lets you customize a whole bunch of stuff like;

 • Raters Gender (Male, Female, Both)
 • Multiple post templates
 • Auto insertion of post tags for current themes
 • Post/Pre dating of your posts
 • CSV Import
 • Link to images automatically in posts if column exists in csv
 • A shitton more!
This is one time that the hype surrounding a wordpress review plugin has actually been worth it. You should show your support too and buy it if you're thinking of using that other plugin that's not as dope as WFReview.
